What is CASS Certification? The USPS defines it as follows: “Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) is a process designed in cooperation with the mailing industry to improve the accuracy of postal codes that appear on mail pieces, such as carrier route, 5-digit ZIP, ZIP+4, and delivery point codes(DPCs).”
Basically this means that it’s a process to standardized and ensure that addressing adheres to guidelines set by the USPS for mail piece delivery. What CASS doesn’t do is measure the accuracy of the actual address for:
- A given recipient
- An empty lot
- A closed business
- Residential foreclosure
To further aid in deliverability we use
NCOA to update records with a change of address. At All Direct Mail Services, we CASS every mailing job that passes through our doors to ensure the highest level of deliverability.
